FNATIC had other plans, pushing to the core at the minute 13 mark with a Boss in tow and 2 level lead. His confidence only grew as the games went Safetypay Vs Paypal, and he was seldom seen without a smile. Stellar performance all around. It was a hard fought battle for Team Dignitas, but they showed that they have Г¤hnliche Spiele Wie Metin2 perseverance and the skills to come out on top of the Playground Poker Club Kahnawake region. With the match on the line, Tempo Storm needed a Game 3 win on Sky Temple.
No other player at the event was able to manage a win with Stukov, proving that it is only Shad who has truly mastered him. Cris meanwhile showed exemplary Tracer play and showed off a fine Lunara and Greymane.
The variety of drafts and the level of coordination on Zealots only improved as the tournament went on, and if they can work out some questionable drafts—like the Abathur composition they ran on Tomb of the Spider Queen—they can get even better, which is scary news for the rest of the competition.
There's a lot of potential in Europe An esports Cinderella story emerged at the Clash. Fnatic team captain Quackniix had to miss out on the Clash due to illness, so the team went with a substitute that they had only run a few scrim games with before.
SonicLeBeast, a notable player from the EU Open Division and a Hero League ladder star holding 1 last season, seemed to fit right in with Fnatic from the start.
Formerly a high level Nova player, Sonic recently adapted to playing a more serious hero pool and established some ridiculous win rates on high impact assassins like Genji and Li-Ming.
Playing Jaina on Braxis Holdout, he landed huge combos and secured important kills for a comfortable win.
His confidence only grew as the games went on, and he was seldom seen without a smile. Who knows what Sonic will do with his newfound spotlight, but perhaps a taste of professional grade action will make him reconsider a career as a Heroes of the Storm pro.
Fnatic will likely be getting even scarier in preparation for the Mid-Season Brawl, as will Team Method, who were undoubtedly disappointed to be the only EU team to be knocked out by NA—the first instance of this in almost two years.
With other EU premier teams like Tricked, Diamond Skin, and Team Liquid looking on waiting in the wings alongside open division teams with players like Sonic, the future looks bright for competition in Europe.
The decision to turn it into an exclusive North America vs Europe competition proved to be a good one. There were no clear underdogs from minor regions, and NA rose to the challenge and in some cases outperformed EU.
With the Eastern Clash and several more weeks of regular season play before the Mid-Season Brawl to come, we can look forward to more top quality entertainment for months on end.
Stray Observations The hero diversity in this tournament was very low with 32 heroes going unpicked. The average game length was only compared to the or so of other tournaments.
The short game times are indicative of how quickly teams are using an advantage to create game-ending situations.
Towers of Doom was the most popular map, though, due in no small part to how strong NA feels on it. This led to some really great long games.
On the other hand, Braxis was only played a single time. Volskaya is much more interesting now that the Protector actually does something impactful, and it's starting to look like a much better map than Warhead.
The Oracle behind the scenes videos are great. The clips of the teams running around with the giant flags were a bit too cringey, though.
Seeing how passionate Mopsio was and how he clearly gave everything to trying to win may well have earned him a few fans.
Vandie did an admirable job for a first appearance on the international stage. She led the casters with impeccable fashion sense too.
I did mention Tracer a bit and had done more in the first draft but she has been a mainstay for a while rather than a new emergence at the Clash.
To be honest, I think a fair few heroes are viable, but they aren't risked. It takes a team to 'risk' playing a hero beyond scrims and into live and be successful for it to become meta.
I think at live events especially in this format teams don't want to risk anything other than their most practiced and most comfortable picks, but yes diversity was disappointingly low.
However, I wasn't being hyperbolic when I said that this was some of the best competitive Heroes we've seen. The games were fantastic. There were very few stomps, very few dull games.
The depth of strategy, the action, the fights were amazing, and it was definitely one of the best finals. Casting was very good. Dread and JHow work really well together, and I think Gilly is better suited to the host role than casting personally though she's good with Dread, who is better with her than JHow is.
MichaelUdall's analysis was a bit meh at times. On the first day he seemed to be stumbling over his words a lot, I guess nerve related, but he grew in confidence as it went on.
He was a bit too focused on talking about macro play rather than giving in depth explanations as to why teams might make a decision, what a team could do differently, or giving a close analysis of a teamfight in the way that Cauthon and Fan have done in the past to great effect.
That's a good point. Especially for supports and tanks, the heroes not played at Western Clash aren't lightyears behind, and I concede balancing almost 80 chars on several maps is a delicate matter.
Still when we saw Probius and Hammer played once or twice by the Koreans last year or Azmodan recently by HHE, that was such a breath of fresh air.
Only similar discovery at this tournament was Shad's often and rightfully acclaimed Stukov play. And without Mene's mage centric read: weird, anachronistic hero pool, Western Clash would have been even more one-dimensional.
Hopefully a third ban and some fixes to Blaze, Maiev and Tracer can salvage what at least to me has become a stale spectator sport - despite close games.

I consider them the wild card. But like you said, Method could pull out the Murky. Next up we have HeroesHearth vs Leftovers. I feel like HeroesHearth is going to win that series, but a lot of people feel like HeroesHearth is the hope of NA.
As soon as you think you know the answer…. For the purposes of the bracket, I think HeroesHearth gets it.
Ok, Team Freedom vs Team Liquid. I like to call them the Renaissance Team of EU. Team Freedom is another of those we need to believe in ourselves kind of things.
I feel like Dignitas would win it. Tempo Storm is capable of winning, but they have to believe they can.
I gotta give that to HeroesHearth. I could easily see that going to game 5, but for all the momentum Team Liquid has developed, they also feel like one of the more inconsistent teams here.
Somehow, HeroesHearth always has this dynamic playstyle where they lose heroes early on but in these clutch moments they have scrappy team fights, and they look dominant from there.
In a scramble, HeroesHearth would come out on top. HeroesHearth has always played the macro game. USA National Park Highlights: ….
